The artist is William Peters Vannet, MBE, FRSA (1917 - 1984). \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHe was born in Carnoustie, Angus. He studied at Dundee College of Art where his teachers included James McIntosh Patrick.  There are clear signs of McIntosh Patrick's influence in this work, especially the application and concentration on all the minute details of a scene so that hardly any part of the paper is untouched.  This etching by Vannet is totally delightful. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHe excelled at these harbour scenes - and this is a typical view of one of his favourite Scottish harbours.
