This is a quirky set of vintage 1960s places mats and coasters.
It is a rare survivor and annotated on the base of each mat that they were made by the London Association for the Blind.
They set consists of three larger sized mats - which measure 7 3/4 inches in diameter and six slightly smaller ones which have a diameter of just under 6 inches.
They are assembled by clicking all the red and white plastic triangles together to form a circle.
The mats are quite sturdy and not floppy.
They come in a vintage Christmas box - which is made of a textured silver foil decorated with holly and red bows.
I haven't seen another set quite like them - and they would certainly with their red and white colours brighten up a Christmas dining table or coffee table.
Each mat is in excellent condition, I don't think that they have ever been used and been stored for years in their little box.
