It is Edwardian in date; probably around 1910.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt advertises Thorne’s Extra Super Crème Toffee. It is a rare tin, but with some condition issues, but certainly displays well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWould make a great item for window display in an old fashioned sweetie shop - or on display in a vintage kitchen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLater Thorne's Toffee tins showing a little girl with her dog which date to the 1930s are much more common - this larger and earlier issue is now much harder to find.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMy asking price reflects this ones early date and rarity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition - all the red colour is vibrant. Some minor rubbing to the decoration. Gilding to areas still nice and shiny - with again little areas of rubbing - but more of the more fragile gold colouring is still present. No nasty dents or dings. Relatively clean inside.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlthough the tin has a patina of age - the tin has been carefully cleaned by me - and is not dirty or grubby in any way.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTin measures: 8 3\/4 inches in length; and is 5 inches wide (at widest) and with a height of 6 1\/2 inches.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFair price for this early advertising item. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUK Posting will be with Royal Mail Tracked (Medium Parcel).
