The other one that I had in stock was more highly coloured and perhaps more decorative. That one has now sold. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one is a nice large size. Height is 13 ¼ inches.  It is in excellent antique condition and dates to the mid to late 19th century. \u003cspan\u003eReference: Harding Book 1, Page 35, Fig 57\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHere, we have a standing figure of the poet - his face and hands are the only coloured areas and painted with subtle flesh tones - his clothes are white with details picked out in gold. His hair and boots are a simple black colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBurns is shown in a romantic pose gazing in reverie and out into the distance. He holds a book of his poetry in his hand - and in the other a Scotch bonnet or Tam O'Shanter hat - a reference to one of his most famous poems.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe is in excellent condition with no damages. And looks good on display. There is a little area of discolouration to the area behind his bonnet on the reverse, as photographed. But this does not display. The previous owner has placed green felt on the base of the figure so that it does not scratch the furniture.
