This is another piece of top quality Rosenthal wares in my Iconic Edinburgh online shop.

This nice little three-piece set dates to the 1980s - and is called Spirit Wonderland, and is part of the studio line range.

The quirky pattern and shape were designed by Dorothy Hafner, who trained as a painter and sculptor. She first took up ceramic design in 1973 and created pieces which were both functional and sculptural. In the following 15 years, she created over 12 lines of tableware for the celebrated firms of Tiffany & Co in New York, and for Rosenthal in Germany.

Her stylish ceramics became instant design icons of the 1980s and they are chronicled in many books on the history of ceramics, often on the covers!

On offer here are a total of three pieces - the teapot is about 9 inches (23 cm) in height and holds about 1.3 litres of tea. So a nice large size if you wish to use it.

The little jug measures just over 9 cm in height and the lidded sugar bowl is 11 cm to top of the lid.

Each piece has a stylised abstract fantasy landscape around the base - and also on the lid. This is a rare little set - and listed at a very fair price.

Total weight of the three pieces is 1.6 kg; so packed up it is going to be about 3 kg plus in weight.

SADLY, due to the size and weight of this hard to find set - it would probably be an item for UK postage only.
