This is a very early ORIGINAL etching by the master Scottish printmaker, James McBey.
It is one of his rare Dutch scenes - called Enkhuisen. It shows the end of Enkhuisen Harbour which is surrounded by houses. Across the foreground is a boat, in the center of which is a fisherman seated and a boy standing.
It dates to 1910 and is signed in ink and with the edition number below (as photographed).
A very delicate and exquisitely drawn smaller etching - measuring 13 x 17. cm
Frame size is 26.5 x 36 cm
It is in just pristine condition - sold beautifully presented with a new frame and new museum-quality mount. All ready to hang. As nice an example as you might find.
A fair price for this attractive work - given both its rarity and exceptional condition. A sought-after print - there is an impression in the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
