The Oyster Catcher with the long orange beak was made at Highbank Pottery in Arygll, Scotland and the other one was made at Arran Pottery. These  potteries specialized in these fine stylized models of animals and birds native to Scotland. They are made fine porcelain with a matt finish. They are finely modelled and very delicate so easily damaged. All the ones that I am listing as in excellent, undamaged condition.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Artic Tern was made at Arran Pottery. Arran birds are just such fine models - perhaps slightly better in finish than the Highbank examples \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eArran Pottery was founded in the early 1970s by the r\u003cspan class=\"iNqyIf\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"yADgie\"\u003eenowned Scottish potter \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cspan class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"yADgie\"\u003eAlastair Dunn. Like Highbank, the pottery \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"yADgie\"\u003ebegan producing porcelain miniatures and wildlife figures from the workshop at Kings Cross on the Isle of Arran\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c!--TgQPHd|||[]--\u003e\u003cspan class=\"yADgie\"\u003e. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c!--TgQPHd|||[]--\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThese are original figurines of bird models that have the Arran stamp or labels on the base, as photographed.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAlastair Dunn continued to make these models throughout the 70s,  until his death in 1986. They were very popular with tourists to Arran and are now much sought after by collectors.
