Unusual Pattern with Heart Shapes","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a most unusual and large mid-century Scottish stoneware jug.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was made by Buchan Pottery, Portobello (just outside of Edinburgh), and dates to the 1950s. The factory was at Portobello - and the pottery kilns are still preserved today as local landmarks. There is a fine display on the history of the Buchan Pottery at the Museum of Edinburgh on the Royal Mile. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a much more unusual design covered all over the roughly painted heart patterns.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt measures about 6 inches in height, and its widest point has a diameter of 6 inches. The spout to handle is 6 1\/2 inches. It is, of course, has no chips or cracks - and in lovely vintage condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI haven't seen this particular pattern before from Buchan - so a much harder-to-find design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is quite a heavy piece weighing in at 700 grams.
