She taught English in Glasgow before starting a family.

Both Ian and Maggie set up the Insh Pottery in Inverness-shire in 1979 and for the next nine years ran a successful pottery business. During this period, Ian continued to paint and exhibit his work. It would be great for storing and serving pats of butter or for keeping little rounds of cheese. It is stamped with Margaret's mark, as photographed.

The base is a dark heather purple colour - with a lip around the edge to stop contents from falling off and to hold the dome in place. The dome is decorated with random blue. brown and rust coloured glazes. These have been quickly applied with a brush. The rust colour suggest little water birds and there are hints of blue to reflect the water.

Dimensions: the base plate is 5 inches in diameter. The overall height of the dome including the handle is 4 inches. The interior dimensions of the dome is just over 4 inches in diameter and the height is about 2 inches.

UK Postage will be about £5.50 with Royal Mail Recorded.
