Unusual Polished Base. 3 3\/4 inches diameter","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a shallow pin dish made in the 1930s by the Scottish Glass company Monart.   \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt is a genuine early Monart piece - not a later Vasart or Strathearn piece.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI have previously sold another five of these wee bowls in different colours. Of course, everyone was very happy with them! \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe two that I have left are bright scarlet red in colour - this red glass is slightly mottled as you find in Monart items. This is more evident around the side sections when held to the light. The rim has speckle black glass - with lots of coppery-gold aventurine - with a nice subtle sparkle to it.   \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEach dish has a more unusual base (without the usual pontil) and it has been polished smooth (as photographed) - this would have originally had a round Monart paper label - but sadly this has gone missing over the years.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eEach is almost identical and both are sweet little miniature examples - measuring just over 3 3\/4 inches in diameter and with a height of an inch.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThese are great display pieces and great starter pieces for a collection of Scottish glassware. If you look around - you will see that this red colour is harder to find on the pin dishes and the shade is much sought after. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBoth are in great condition with no chips or cracks.  Listed at a fair price for a piece of Monart art glass about 90 years old.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUK Postage will be with Royal Mail Tracked Post (Small Parcel).
