Rare Antique Model of a Lady with a Grey Donkey, Gathering Sand into Sandbags","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a very attractive and harder to find Victorian Staffordshire figurine, which dates to about the 1860s. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a genuine 19th Century example and in excellent damage free condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt shows a lady with her donkey who carries a big bag or sack on his bag full of sand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is another bag on the ground beside her. There is an embossed word in the foreground: SAND\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is nicely decorated with colours - these are original to the figure group. The lady wears an orange dress - and has a white apron on top which are tiny hand painted sprigs of flowers on it. She wears a little white cap.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach sand bag is pale yellow in colour. The donkey is grey with a black mane and a brown saddle. The donkey's foreleg sticks out - and it is remarkable that it has survived intact with no damages or breaks. Little air vent to the back on the donkey's shoulder.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: overall width at the widest point is about 9 inches. Height from base to top of lady's head is just over 8 inches.
