It was set up in 1897.

The original company name was Thomas Webb and Corbett Limited, and it was always a completely separate operation from Thomas Webb and Sons which later became Webb's Crystal Glass Co. Ltd., another famous Stourbridge crystal glass company. Thomas Webb and Corbett Ltd changed their name to Webb Corbett Ltd in the 1930s.

In 1969 the company was taken over by Royal Doulton Company, and in 1986 they stopped using the Webb Corbett name. Glass from the former Webb Corbett glassworks was then produced under the name Royal Doulton Crystal until this glassworks closed down.

I have a few different sizes in this very rare pattern in my shop. I have arranged them into sets of six glasses and then into some spares. I haven't as yet been able to locate other pieces or the pattern name - but I have narrowed the maker and date down to them all being produced by Webb Corbett between 1930 - 1947 as a couple of the whisky tumblers have an engraved mark on the base used at this date.

As you can see from my photographs - the pattern is very intricate, a highly crafted one and certainly very beautiful. It is very Deco 30s in style - with faceted "thumbprints" and stars near the rim. A ring of parallel lines is engraved further down. Nearer to the foot are long vertical oval-shaped cut facets all around.

I had a pair of these old jugs - one has now been sold - SO ONLY THIS ONE IS LEFT.

The foot of each large water jug has a large deep star cut on the base. The base is very heavy and made from thick chunky clear glass faceted crystal. I have taken lots of images so that you can assess this as yet "anonymous" pattern and see all the fine details in the cutting.

My jug is 7 1/2 inches in height. From handle to spout is 7 1/2 inches. The diameter is 5 1/2 inches at the widest point. And it has a 3 1/2 inches diameter on the base. The crystal jug is roughtly 1.3 kilograms. Being thick crystal - it has a good weight being all hand blown and then engraved. My stylish crystal jug is in excellent condition, nice, and clean with no damages.

Just so there is no confusion: the price quoted here is for a SINGLE JUG. I did have an identical pair - but one of them has been sold.

I would send a single jug to you with Royal Mail Medium Parcel (Tracked).

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0271/1902/6240/files/stunning-large-rare-1930s-art-deco-crystal-water-jug-webb-corbett-7-1-2-inches-in-height-two-availble-vintage-glasses-881.webp?v=1781634288
https://www.iconicedinburgh.co.uk/products/stunning-large-rare-1930s-art-deco-crystal-water-jug-webb-corbett-7-1-2-inches-in-height-two-availble-copy
