Often, they used a tree in the composition to store the spills. \u003c\/span\u003eThe spread of spills would have resembled the branches of the tree when on display.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lady is seated on the base of the tree - the folds of her dress and depicted with great detail. Her arm is away from her body - and her other hand holds a jug or pitcher. The gentleman stands behind her - and again - he is more of a figurine than a flatback. The width and the widest point is 7 inches.
