It was made by the silversmith, William Evans.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt takes the form of a small tankard and has the most attractive scrolling handle which is embellished with foliate additions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is in good antique condition with no dents or damages - there is one inscription on a panel to front: this has an entwined monogram above and below: 20th April 1889 - so added to the mug as a presentation piece some 10 years after it was made. This inscription could probably be easily burnished off.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is made of solid silver - and the interior has a fine gold wash colour as photographed. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has hallmarked (as photographed) for London 1879 and with the stamp WE for William Evans.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: The height is 3 1\/2 inches. Top Diameter is 2 1\/2 inches. The diameter at the base is 2 3\/4 inches. From rin to handle is 4 1\/8 inches. It has a good weight to it - weighing about 160 grams. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI love all the engraved floral, fern and leaf decorations all over, and of course the attractive shape of the handle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUK Postage will be with Royal Mail Tracked and Signed for.
