This is a very decorative and unusual metal coal bucket or log box - which you might place beside your fire with coal or logs stored inside. It would look fantastic in a mid-century modern interior.
I have never seen another quite like it. The bin is a cauldron shape with a polished matt brass lid. It has a little decorative knop on the top of the lid - so that you can lift the lid easily.
The main body section is like a large tub - it is an eggshell black finished to it - and as you can see from my photographs - it is in excellent condition. Inside the main body of the bucket is a second interior container - which is made of galvanised steel which serves as a liner - it has little handles to the side to enable you to lift the inner box and contents out easily.
I love the little tripod feet. The design is quite atomic or space-age in style - and it reminds me a little of a little chubby spaceship!
It is a lovely crafted made piece - I have looked all over and I have been unable to find a maker's mark - and have been unable to source another like it. The little footed bin or box is very beautifully made, as you can see from my images.
It is in very good vintage condition. I have taken lots of photographs so that you can see this fine piece from all angles
Postage would be with Parceforce48 as a tracked service. It would be very carefully packed to keep it nice and secure in transit. This would cost about £10 to UK addresses. Sadly, due to the size and weight - it would have to be sent to UK addresses only.
