This is a very fine and highly collectible vintage Sterling silver penannular brooch by Ian McCormick.
McCormick was an apprentice to Alexander Ritchie on Iona - and he continued to use Ritchie and designs and jewellery moulds after this death.
It is signed on the back IMC and inscribed Iona Sterling Scotland.
It is a beautifully made piece with fine Celtic knotwork and set with two oval cabochons made of green Iona Marble.
It is a nice larger size and in excellent condition. As a vintage piece, rest assured that it is nice and clean and ready to wear. It will be sent in a nice black coloured gift box.
Dimensions: 2 inches in diameter and the length of the pin is 2 1/2 inches.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF PENANNULAR BROOCH / CLOAK PIN:
Open the cloak pin so that the pin is pointing in the opposite direction to the hole in the ring.
Stick the pin through the cloth and then back out again so that the pin is held in place by the cloth.
Close the cloak pin all the way so that the end of the pin passes through the ring.
Turn the ring through 90 degrees.
