This is a lovely vintage kitchen storage tin.
It has a most delightful and stylish design dating to the late 1950s or early 1950s.
My tin has a black background with "cartoon" images of Chinese themed items - pagodas, temple, cranes and little junks etc.
It is a lovely advertising tin made for William Crawford Biscuits, Scotland (Glasgow)- as annotated on the base.
The tin would have originally contained a sample selection of their biscuits - but now is probably a little too small for biscuits and might function better as a tin to storage tea or teabags in.
It measures: 14.7 cms x 9.5 cms. And with a height of 12 cm.
The tin is in good vintage condition with no dents or nasty scratches to the design - there are a couple of wee scuffs on the gold-tone to the base - but that is really the only condition issue.
The tin has a hinged lid and has a shiny gold interior.
A fabulous vintage tin - such lovely period designs are now getting harder to find... especially in such fine condition.
