This is a vintage tinplate toy. It dates to the 1960s - so is now nearly 60 years old.
It comes in its original 1960s box, as photographed. These vintage Chinese toys were made for export to the West in the 1960s - and are now starting to become "hot" collectibles and have a growing group of collectors- which started to push prices up.
They are always well made - and the tin plate and printed details are always quite exquisite.
It is in good vintage condition and has never been used - it does not fly but its wheels are friction-powered and the propellors are not fixed but can be rotated.
The plane represents a Chinese Passenger Plane: Model No. MF 107
The plane is in good condition - as it has never been played with - it is more of a display item - the main body section simply clicks into the wings section to assemble, as shown in my photographs. There is one little scuff to the side of the cockpit (as photographed) - this has occurred in the box.
The box is very early 1960s in date - and is a rarer box. It is in pretty good condition given its age. No rips or tears - no scribbled on it. There is still a bit of original old tissue inside.
The wing span is about 15 cm (6 inches).
A fabulous accessory for a home office if you work in the travel industry.
Fairly priced as the box on this example is a rarer and more attractive one. Postage of £4.95 for Recorded Post with the Royal Mail in the UK.
