This is a very attractive vintage 1960s British Coffee Set. It has a blue body with large white polka dots forming the decoration.
This pattern is called Jersey Blue - and it was made by TG Green - who are best known for their blue and white striped Cornishware items.
This Jersey Blue design was created in the 60s by Judith Onions and Martin Hunt. They both created a series of designs for TG Green and named each pattern after one of the islands in the Channel. This pattern with its large polka dots pattern on a Royal Blue background colour is named after Jersey.
The set is a large one - and is for six settings. We have a coffee pot, milk jug and open sugar bowl. Six matching coffee cups and saucers - and six side plates. All pieces are in excellent condition - and all match - but some of the backstamps on the base are of different designs, as shown.
Dimensions: The coffee pot is 8 1/4 inches in height - and is just under 8 inches from handle to spout. The milk jug is 3 inches in height and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The sugar bowl is 2 inches in height and has a diameter of 3 inches.
The coffee cups are 3 inches in height with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The saucers are 5 3/4 inches in diameter and the side plates are just over 6 inches in diameter.
