The founder was Leonard Sullivan - who was a former worker at the celebrated Mdina Glass factory. Many of the pieces from this date are very similar to designs made by Michael Harris. Phoenician Glass was named after the ancient civilization that colonized Malta during the 1st Millenium BC. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis early 80s piece is indeed very similar to Lollipop vases designed at Mdina and the Isle of Wight - so it would fabulous in your collection of these pieces. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a very large and heavy example - and it is covered with shiny dark purple thick ribbon-like trails and purple and green lusters like peacock wings or that you might find on Tiffany glass  - it is just amazing. I hope that my images have done this piece justice. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt certainly is a bit of a showstopper! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: Height is 8 3\/4 inches and with a diameter of the main body section of 6 1\/4 inches. Depth of 2 inches. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStonking weight: it is 1.2 kg in weight unpacked.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMy price for such a large and well-crafted example is certainly a fair one.
