This is a very good quality vintage fully fitted attache case or briefcase.
It is made of brown leather - with hard top, sides and base.
Inside, it is fully fitted with a textured beige coloured cotton (with herringbone weave) material with a selection of pockets and flaps in which to organise and store your stationery and also large enough to keep a large sized laptop in the base - which can also be held in place by straps with leather buckles.
The clasps and locks are made of brass and are quite sturdy in construction. The handle is nice and secure with no issues.
There are also four little brass feet on the base - so that if you have to place the case on the ground - the little feet protect the leather from any damages.
The material on the interior is nice and clean with no pen marks or staining caused by use. There are tiny and very minor time spots on the beige material commensurate with age - but certainly in fresh condition and in no way grubby.
It is hard to date this vintage case quite precisely - as the only label is the one which reads: Read Hide / Made in England - but I suspect that it dates to the second half of the 20th century.
As a sign of quality - the case stays open with two silver coloured metal hinges on each side - so that the lid does not readily fall shut on you when open on a desktop.
There are no previous owners names and no monograms on the case. No nasty scratches or indentations to the leather either.
I shall also make sure that it is polished with wax to have it in tip-top condition before I post to you and so that the leather is all nourished. The leather finish is nice and shiny with no patches or staining to the colour.
All the stitching is intact - a little rubbing to a couple of corners but will reduce when polished up (as photographed).
If you are in the legal profession or an academic - this is certainly a very useful case for you and a larger sized for all your papers - the fitted compartments and wallet sections certainly make it easy to organise your documents with ease.
You can even get your sandwiches in here!
Measurements, when it is closed, is: 20 inches (51 cm) wide. Depth is 14 1/2 inches (37 cm). The height is 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm).
Weight unpacked is 2.6 kg.
My price is certainly a fair one for this lovely large case - you wont be disappointed with it.
Sadly, no key - but would be easy enough to get one to fit.
Sadly, due to the weight - it would have to be posted to UK addresses only.
Other photographs can be supplied for serious interest - if I have missed anything out in the images added to my listing. It was hard to show all the details in the 10 images I am allowed to post.
