This is a great collectable vintage child's tin drum.
It dates to the late 1950s / early 1960s and it was made by Chad Valley, as annotated on the side. It also says Made in England.
The design features a stylized depiction of the Royal Coat of Arms which is interspersed with a laurel sprig with a twisted ribbon around it.
The drum is in fine vintage condition - some signs of wear - and a couple of wee scuff here and there - but no nasty dents. The condition can probably be described as commensurate with age and use. It certainly would look good on display. You don't notice any of the little areas of surface scratching when it is on display.
It is nice and clean - and I have replaced the old string (it has rather grubby) with an appropriate new one. It comes without the original drumsticks - these would often go missing, and perhaps a blessing (noise wise!) not to have them.
I like on this design how all the thick ropes around the edges of a real drum have been printed on this one as part of the decoration.
The drum measures: 7 inches in diameter and has a height of 4 1/4 inches.
I have taken a lot of images for your inspection.
