This is a vintage Bidri Metal Figure of a pretty Indian lady.
Bidri metal items are made in the Bidar region of India. They use metal to make the figures which is a blackened alloy of zinc and copper - and then with all the fine details inlaid with thin sheets of pure silver.
It is an important Indian export and Bidriware is often much prized as symbols of wealth.
This one dates from around the mid 20th Century - I have had it packed away for a good few years now.
It is very decorative and would look good hanging in a mid-century interior. Not only is it a wall hanging or plaque- but it is also designed to stand on a flat surface as a sculptural piece.
In fabulous vintage condition, nice and clean with no damages.
Height 8 1/2 inches and the width at the bottoms 7 1/2 inches.
UK POSTAGE ONLY. This will cost £4.95 with Royal Mail Tracked postage and will be applied at check-out.
