When Paul left Caithness in 1971 to set up his studio at Harland, William joined him in the new business. After Harland closed in 1974, he returned to Caithness where he stayed until setting up William Manson Paperweights Studio in 1997. Sadly William Manson Snr passed away in 2025. His work is continued by his son William and family from there studio in Stirling. They continue his legacy with the production of stunning limited edition paperweights.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is marked on the base (around the edge): Caithness Glass with the weight title: Winter Bouquet. It is No. 71 - out of a small limited edition of 250. The edition closed at 211.  It was issued in 1986. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is another stylish Manson paperweight. The glass has a pink-lilac tinge to it which its picked up in the coloured lampwork berries. The bouquet is made up of delicate lampwork winter flowers and berries. These are enlivened by the green of the spruce twig and lime green leaves. There is no coloured ground and the bouquet seems to float above the base. There is a polished slightly concave viewing facet on the top of the weight and a further five facets around the outside which create an optical illusion that there are more blooms when seen from the side - than are actually there.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe base is polished and has a polished pontil dimple in the center.  It is not signed as being by William Manson. This is not an unusual occurrence, as many of his weights made at Caithness often devoid of a signature.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a fabulous weight - and looks amazing on display. It is listed at a fair price. This takes into account the pretty design, its excellent condition and the small edition size. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions:  The diameter is just under 3 inches.
