This is a large mid-century ceramic table lamp.
It is marked in gold on the base interior: Painted Italy 2625.
It is a tall 1950s lamp of stretched ovoid form - with a flattened / dipped facet on the front which contains a hand-painted stylized image of an Italian lady with blonde / yellow hair. She wears a black top decorated with applied yellow dots.
The main body of the lamp is decorated all around with thick stripes of white, plum and dark green shades - and then has a lustre glaze applied on top.
It has a white plastic bulb holder at the top - with an on-and-off switch.
The lamp has been re-wired before listing with a new white cable.
It is a nice large lamp - measuring 13 1/2 inches in height (not including the bulb holder) - and 7 inches in diameter at the widest point.
It is in good condition with no damage - these 1950s hand-painted Italian lamp bases are now hard to find - this is reflected in my asking price.
It is sold without a shade but would look good with a simple white drum-shaped one.
It will have to be sent to you in the UK with Parcelforce recorded post. This will cost £10 and applied to your order at the checkout.
