his is a one-off piece of studio pottery. It dates to the 20th century., but looks back to earlier antique shapes for inspiration.
It is a very sturdy pot - and all handmade. It is made from a red / terracotta clay body with a dark olive-green glaze.
There are some incised Japanese-inspired motifs near the base.
It is 8 inches from spout to handle - and has a height of 4 1/2 inches.
Studio Pottery Stoneware Teapot with red clay body and a dark olive green glaze and simple black incised Japanese-inspired decoration
The height is 4 ½ inches. From spout to handle it is 8 inches. It is In excellent condition with no damage.
Sadly - I cannot find a maker's mark on this fine teapot, but it is possibly Scottish in origin / perhaps Winchcombe.
