This is fine original vintage Swedish stainless steel cutlery dating from the around the 1950s (not a later contemporary re-issue).
Gense is the biggest manufacturer of cutlery made of stainless steel in the Scandinavia.
The company was founded by Gustaf Eriksson in 1856 and over the years Gense has collaborated with some of the most renowned designers. Many of their early / mid 20th century designs are still in production today and are considered design classics.
This is part of a small selection of vintage mid-century pieces which I have owned for years and offering for sale. I have never used them - and they are in fairly good vintage condition.
The stylish Egyptian inspired design is called Thebe and it was originally designed by Folke Arstom in 1944.
Of course - like most items of Swedish design it is made to the highest standards of quality.
Of offer here is a very rare four piece serving and carving set - the set on offer here consists of a carving knife and matching pronged fork; a slender serving slice and large five pronged fork - they are in fine vintage condition - a few fine surface scratches - but now hard to find and minor signs of wear are quite acceptable.
These pieces in this range are very much rare items - and this is reflected in my asking price for these - selling at less than £20 a piece... bargain!
Listed at a fair price.
