It is beautifully made and crafted, as photographed. I love the geometric inclusions to enliven the design - the little 3-D disk on the lid - each side filled with black bakelite - and the bakelite is repeated on the undulating handle. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGense is the biggest manufacturer of cutlery made of stainless steel in the Scandinavia. The company was founded by Gustaf Eriksson in 1856 and over the years Gense has collaborated with some of the most renowned designers. Many of their early \/ mid 20th century designs are still in production today and are considered design classics. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis design was probably designed by Folke Arnstrom - who worked for Gense and liked to include bakelite details into his innovative mid-century designs for the company. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis lidded jug could also be used as a teapot. It holds 100 cl of liquid\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOf course - like most items of Swedish design it is made to the highest standards of quality.
