I love this unusual old tin - it shows an image of Robinson Crusoe and Man Friday on their desert island.

It dates to the mid 20th century - probably about the 1940s or 1950s.

It was probably an old biscuit or toffee tin - but not sure as there are no details of the manufacturer on this one.

This subject is very rare on old vintage tins - and it probably was used to appeal of children.

The tin is in pretty good condition for its age - there is one scratch to the image on the lid (which appears as a silver tone, as photographed in close up for your inspection. It is on the foliage behind Man Friday) - but generally a nice display piece for the more specialist collector.

The colours are lithographically printed and remain nice and fresh - there are no nasty dents to the tin.

The interior is free from rust but the original shiny tin colour has oxidised and it is now duller in tone.

Dimensions: 6 inches in diameter and with a height of 2 inches.

This tine is probably for the more specialist collector.

UK Postage will be Royal Mail (Small Parcel).
