This is a comical little novelty teapot - it takes the form of the German flying ace, the Red Baron (Baron von Richthofen) shown in the cockpit of his famous red biplane.

The pot dates to the 1980s and was made by Carltonware as annotated on the base.
I love the lid of this pot - where the little Red Baron pilot has been applied to the lid section on the cockpit and to fill your pot - you lift him out. The spout is the center point of the propellor.
It is in pretty good vintage condition and I don't think that it has ever been used. There is a little craquelure to the clear glaze that you can just see on the base near the maker's mark. This is just confined to the base section and is not obvious when it is on display - only really on close-up inspection. This is reflected in my reduced asking price for this vintage teapot.
The overall length of the pot is about. 8 1/2 inches. The height is about 5 1/2 inches - the wingspan is 6 inches.
It is a very lovely wee teapot that is over 40 years old.
