This is a comical little novelty teapot - it takes the form of a little plane.  Please see my other Carlton Ware Novelty Red Baron Teapot - they look fantastic together.

It was made in 1975 by Stuart Taylor of Westfield Pottery. As annotated on the base.

The potter has taken the old Gee Bee Racing aircraft as his inspiration - and has added decorative roundels on the wings, sides, and tail - which were used by the Royal Air Force.

I love the lid of this pot - where the little pilot has been applied to the lid section on the cockpit and to fill your pot - you lift him and the wing section right out. Check out his funny wee face - very 70s!  The spout is where the propellor would come out.

Stuart Taylor has called the teapot T46 (referring to another plane of the 1930s) - I don't think that this pot would hold enough tea for 6 people!

It is in lovely condition with no damage and I don't think that it has ever been used.

The overall length of the pot is about. 8 inches. The height is about 5 1/2 inches - the wingspan is 7 3/4 inches.

It is a very lovely wee teapot that is nearly 50 years old. I can't believe that it has survived in such fine condition.

I will have to post to you in the UK as a medium size parcel with Royal Mail Recorded - this will cost £6.95 and be applied to your order at the checkout. .
