This is a fine mid-century 1930s or 1940s glass plafonnier lampshade.
It has an opaque mottled creamy pale yellow main body colour. There are little areas of coloured swirls in the glass - and this reminds me a little of toffee swirls that you might find in caramel ice cream.

The shade comes complete with brass-coloured chains which attach to the hooks on the shade.
It is called a goldfish bowl shade - and is also known by its cheeky nickname a "flycatcher" shade.
The shade is in excellent condition with no nasty chips or cracks in the glass.
It is a nice larger size - it has a diameter of 14 inches and a height of 5 1/2 inches. The interior aperture inside is 9 3/4 inches.
