This is a fantastic little high-sided bowl with a fluid hand-painted abstract decoration by Inger Waage for Stavangerflint, Norway.
It is a rarer design and it is certainly very Scandinavian in feel.
The outside of the bowl is a glossy black and the inside has an abstract leaf design. The decoration is rather atomic in feel.
My wee bowl is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The is a little area of light craquelure in the base - but nothing major and does not distract from the attractive quality of this pretty mid-century Norwegian bowl. This wee blemish is reflected in my lowered asking price.
The shape is lovely - and a little like the hull of a boat - with peaks at either end.
The dish is marked to the base with the Stavangerflint logo and number. It measures 12 cm wide - with a depth of 9 cm and a height of 5 cm.
