This is a very large and attractive vintage Norwegian Vase. It will look so stunning in a mid-century interior. It is decorated with a stylised deer on the front and around the sides and back there are abstract tree shapes set in a vibrant landscape. This was a popular motif at Elle and it was also used to decorate plates and ceramic wall hangings.

It was designed by Arvid Furuheim for the Elle Pottery.
The company started in 1942 in Torkildstranda in Drøbak near Oslo. It was lead by Tor Samuelsen. They produced beautiful stylised designs right up until 1967. Elle pieces are now starting to become highly collectable.
It is made of a thicker stoneware type of ceramic and is a very heavy piece - so sadly it would have to be confined to UK posting only.
A great larger size for display. The height is 17 3/4 inches. The width at the widest part is 8 inches. And unpacked it is a stonking 4 kg.
