This is a great decorative porcelain plate designed by the Danish artist, Bjorn Wiinbald for Rosenthal Studio Line.
It comes from a series of Christmas Plates that he designed annually for Rosenthal.
This one was made in 1987.

This one comes from the O Tannenbaum / Christmas Carols series. It relates to the Carol: Hark the Herald Angels Sing
This one is a very joyous image - it shows the Virgin Mary lying on a comfy bed. Around her are a whole host of pretty angels - they await the birth of the baby Jesus. In celebration, they play musical instruments. The focus on the angelic chorus again reveals Wiinblad's love in depicting musicians.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, etc.
A nice large wall charger measuring some 11 inches in diameter. It is a great item to put on display at Christmas. These plates were very popular issues and are easier to source - this is reflected in my lower asking price for these lovely ones.
