This is a fine little lot of three vintage Waterford Crystal Water Goblets - but could also be described as gin and tonic glasses. The glasses can also be used to serve glasses of white or red wine.
They are sold all nice and clean - and of course with no chips and damage-free.
The pattern is called Colleen (Short Stem, Cut). I love it - it is a very stunning pattern, and much sought after. It was first introduced in 1968.
Each glass is 5 1/4 inches in height and the rim has a diameter of just over 3 inches. The foot is just under three inches. Each glass contains 8 oz of liquid.
They are certainly very stylish glasses. Each glass has a tight criss-cross pattern around the base of the bowl. From this pattern rises a ring of elongated faceted ovals. The stem is short - and embellished with a faceted ball. The foot is plain with no decoration on it.
These were hand-made in the Republic of Ireland and the design is now discontinued. They each have a lightly etched Waterford mark on the foot of each glass. So not seconds!
