This is a fine vintage 1930s Celtic Style Sterling Silver Brooch.
It was made by Shipton & Co. (S & Co) and has a Chester hallmark for the date 1936. It is nearly 90 years old. It is based on an earlier similar design by Alexander Ritchie.
The brooch featured a little Viking Ship on the sea. It is of a smaller size and would make a fine brooch for a lapel or a cap badge.
It has a c-clasp catch, as shown, The catch and pin are nice and secure. The tip of the pin is nice and sharp.
The diameter of the brooch is just over an inch (3 cm). It is sold in nice vintage condition - very clean and all shiny. I have priced it at £45 which is a fair price.
