his is a nice heavy silver charm bracelet - which contains 19 rarer, more heavy silver charms that were made as souvenirs that you would buy and add to your bracelet when you visit specific towns or on special occasions.
All the charms are top-quality vintage ones.
This bracelet, as you can see in my photographs, has a good bit of weight to it - with all these charms attached - the overall weight is just over 115 grams.
The charms are as follows: a Lincoln Imp; Enamel Shield; a Traveller's Caravan,; a little Country Inn (which opens to show drinkers inside) ; a Bear; a modern towing caravan (which opens at the base); a quirky toadstool house which opens to reveal a little elf; an old gentleman on a park bench; an oil derrick; a beautifully made Viking ship; a little rabbit with a little stone body; a church with steeple - opens to reveal a wedding party; a swan; a toby jug; a port and starboard ship's lantern; a large cowbell; a showjumper on horseback jumping over a fence; and a bible.
Most of these are hallmarked with teeny-weeny marks
The padlock has a hallmark. Sadly, this mark is rather rubbed with age - I can make out that it is from Birmingham - but the date letter is escaping me - these bracelets were particularly popular in the 1950s and 1960s - so I would imagine that is a good suggestion of the age.
The chain is a very substantial one with thick links. The clasp is the padlock and there is a fine safety chain that is still present.
This bracelet will fit snuggly on my wrist - I have measured the circumference of my wrist - which is 7 1/2 inches. So I would say a really good fit would be if your wrist measured 7 inches to 7 1/2 inches. I would not recommend it fitting if around your wrist is more than 7 1/2 inches.
I have another charm bracelet in my store - but this one is just a slightly better quality one - the charms are just a little finer made with more details and crafting - and some are moveable (these often fetch in excess of £20 + each). All the charms on this bracelet are certainly rarer ones so this is reflected in my price here - as well as the weight of the bracelet - it is certainly not a wee flimsy one!
