This is a more unusual mid-century table lamp by Fratelli Fanciullacci - it is signed Italy and with an issue number on the inside of the base as photographed. I have asked some advice on this and the consensus seems to be that the lettering is consistent with that on Fanciullacci pieces.
The exterior of the lamp is rough with a matt glaze. The sgraffito decoration is carved into the surface and then infilled with a glossy black glaze - there is a shiny black ceramic cap at the top of the neck. The colours on my lamp are quite muted. The decoration is quite Brutalist in inspiration - so I am dating this to around the end of the 1960s or early 1970s. I have not found another Fanciullacci lamp like this - so it must be a rather rare example. It is listed at a very fair price. It will look good with a hessian shade or a simple cafe-au-lait coloured drum shade.
Dimensions: from the base to the top of the ceramic body is 8 1/4 inches. From the base to the top of the bulb holder is 11 inches. The diameter is 5 inches.
It is just under 1.1 kg in weight (unpacked).
The lamp has recently been re-wired with a new bulb holder for your safety.
