This is a great piece of vintage Danish kitchenalia. On offer is a lovely large bright blue heavy-lidded cooking or casserole pot. It dates to the 1970s.
All the enamel is in good condition with no chips or losses. It has a nice shine to the surface with no scratches or stains. The interior is also a blue enamel and in good clean condition with no disfiguring staining, as can be seen in my photographs.
The cast iron base naturally tends to discolour slightly (due to the iron content) - my one has a relatively good colour.
These Scandinavian kitchen enamel pieces are highly sought after and great for cooking foods in the oven or indeed on the hob.
The pot has a deep base and a flat lid that sits on top. Both pieces have in-built handles, as photographed.
It is marked with the maker's name on the base. This states that it was Made in Denmark by Copco and designed by Michael Lax. The pot is called "Dutch Oven".
The pot is about 5 1/2 inches high (including lid) and has a diameter of 10 inches. The pot is 12 inches from handle to handle and holds 4 quarts.
