his is an interesting item for the collector of vintage tins and advertising items.
This is a 1960s first aid tin - which you would keep at home to store things like bandages, plasters etc.
This tin was made for Wallace, Cameron & Co Ltd (Glasgow), They were the leading first aid suppliers in the UK distributing first aid kits to over 30 countries. They are still in operation - providing innovation & shaping the future of first aid for over 65 years.
This is a lovely vintage box in excellent condition with no signs of rust, or scratching to the exterior. The interior is silvered and is still nice and shiny. Looks like the kit has been packed away for many years. It has some vintage contents inside: Some Surgical Boric Lint in the original packet, an old cotton sling, a packet of Picric Gauze, more Boric Lint in a wee grease proof paper packet, a roll of bandage- and last of all - a wee card box of Boots Safety Pins. There is also an interesting leaflet issued by Woman and Home - as a Holiday First-Aid Guide.
Dimensions: 9 1/2 inches in length; 7 inches wide and with a height of 2 inches.
The tin could have more modern contents stored in it today - and would be great on display in a medicine cabinet in a bathroom.
It is hard to find one of these tins in such a lovely condition - and this has been taken into account with my pricing.
