This is a lovely Scottish paperweight that was made by Peter McDougall at his Glass Studio at Crieff in Perthshire.
It is certainly a pretty little weight by his fine glass artist.
This one has a Royal Blue base. There are lines in the glass - so that when you look straight into the weight from the done - it has a dazzling halo effect with shooting white lines. In the center of the paperweight is a large lilac daisy-like flower - this is made of lampwork and is very delicate in feel.
Around the edge of the water is a ring of canes made of a white abstract pattern, as photographed.
It has Peter's cane on the base PMcD.
It is in good vintage condition and looks fabulous on display. It has been listed at a fair price as McDougall Glass Studio weights are always sought after.

Dimensions: The diameter is just over 2 1/2 inches and the height is 2 inches.
HISTORY: Peter McDougall started working at Strathearn Glass in Crieff at the age of 16. In 1968, Stuart Drysdale and five other glassworkers (including McDougall) started Perthshire Paperweights. Peter eventually became its manager.
When Perthshire Paperweights closed in 2002 - Peter opened his own studio (PMcD Glass Studio Ltd) in Crieff. He continued to make the finest paperweights there until he retired in 2012.
