This is a bit of a showstopper of a Scottish millefiori glass perfume bottle (or pear-shaped inkwell). It looks so much nicer in "real life" than suggested in my photographs.
It is a large and rare Scottish glass bottle measuring some 7 1/2 inches in height. (this height includes the fabulous paperweight style stopper).
It was made at Perthshire Glass, probably in the 1980s. This PP83 bottle was made at Perthshire Glass – and has its original label on the base. These were made between 1985 and 1992. There is a P cane to the center of the stopper and also on the base section.
The bottle and also the stopper are made of very intricate close-pack millefiori canes that have been set into a Royal Blue ground. The sides of the stopper and the bottle section all have oval viewing facets all around. The top of the stopper has a flat facet on the top - which is a clever design feature - as you can lie it on your tabletop when removed from the bottle - and it won't roll about!
Their is the original paper label still on the base - and the stopper and the base section is mark with the Perthshire "P" cane.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no damage to either the base or the stopper. The stopper (of course) is orignal to the base section.
These bottles were very time-consuming and hard to make - they are now quite hard to find pieces of Perthshire Glass - this is reflected in my asking price.
UK Postage will be Royal Mail Special Next Day Recorded - this will mean that the bottle is fully insured against loss or any damage in transit. UK postage will cost £10 and this will applied to your order at the checkout.
I will be able to send to the USA and Canada. This would cost about £27 for a fully tracked service. To Australia you would be looking at £30 for a tracked service.
