This is a vintage powder compact made by Stratton. I think that it would contain loose powder - and I think that the base is also the correct size to take modern pressed face powder cakes.
It dates to the early 1970s. It is a very good quality one and made by Stratton as marked on the base.
It has never been used and It is in a like-new condition - so no hygiene issues with it.
The main body is gold-tone - and the top of the lid has a very shiny black enamel finish with a large bright red exotic flower and decorative green leaves.
The mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface. It comes with its original grey velour flock pouch and cardboard retail box - all as photographed. It also has a little booklet inside - all as photographed.
The diameter is 7.5 cm (3 inches).
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. My asking price reflects its age and its exceptional condition.
