This is a great display piece for a dresser in a country cottage.

This is a cute antique red and white cow creamer. These were very popular with Victorians in the late 19th century - and this ones dates to the 1860s or slightly later.

It is beautifully modelled and in good condition for its age. The cow  stands on a thin oval base section - which is hand-painted with green paint, to resemble grass. She is standing to attention and giving out a moo. Her mouth is open and forms a spout for the creamer. Her legs are intact with no chips or cracks. Her main body is a white colour with liberally applied russet hand-painted patches. There is a little peach coloured udder below - and this peach tone is picked up again around her mouth area. The cows's long brown tail curls around her back - and again no damage there! The stopper in the top is original to the figurine.

There is a little issue to the horns - there is a firing crack to the base of one horn area - I think created in the making of the creamer. There is also the smallest and finest of surface glaze hairlines on the bridge of her nose. The ears have no losses and the gold paint on the horns is original to the model.

Dimensions. Length from the nose to tail is just over 6 1/2 inches. The height is to top of the horns is 4 1/4 inches. The height from the ground to the top of the cover of her back is 3 3/4 inches. The plinth is 5 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches.

This is a lovely example - the small firing crack to the base of the horn section is reflected in my asking price. It is now about 150 years old and certainly displays well.

She will be posted to you with UK Royal Mail Recorded. This will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
