Items made by the British company Dodo Designs are now very collectable.
After the company went into liquidation in the 1980s - it transformed into another company called United Notions Designs which made cards and items (such as my wee puzzles) for sale in gift shops.
This is a fine pair of highly collectable vintage puzzle games by United Notions - and as such quite rare survivors.
They could be considered the precursors to Rubix cube type games - but instead of being three dimensional - these vintage puzzles are two dimensions and done on "the flat".
You move the tiles around on the board to get them into a pattern or order.
One features the image of a calculator - and the other an image of Concorde (in itself quite collectable_.
Each game was designed to fit in your pocket. Dimensions: 9 x 7.5 cm
With school holidays ... a great way to keep your back seat drivers quiet in the car...
They are in excellent condition and absolutely clean and fresh - they are hard to find - and as mentioned Dodo Design and subsequently, United Notions items are now very much considered special items of late 20th Century British design.
