This is a fine little job lot of spares - here we have three smaller coffee cups and three larger-sized ones. They are made by Ruska Pottery of chunky stoneware and all have a rustic mottled matt brown glaze.
“Ruska” means “autumn” in Finnish and it was used by the designer Ulla Procope to evoke the earthy and rustic colours of the Finnish autumn landscape. The glazed surface was created with an unusual decorating method: powdered black iron was sprayed on top of a matte base glaze, giving each piece a slightly unique artisan and smoky look. The traditional rustic colour of the glazing shifts in tone from paler to more deep tones.
They were created by the celebrated designer Ulla Procope. The white printed mark on the base of each piece - has sadly disappeared over time - but these are clearly genuine vintage Ruska pieces.
Arabia Pottery is always made to the best quality - and these Ruska pieces are quite exceptional. They are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. No scuff marks on the saucers.
The smaller cups are 3 inches in height with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The larger cups are 3 1/2 inches in height and 3 1/4 inches in diameter.
As a wee job lot - these are handy for completing a set or replacing ones damaged in your existing set. I have priced them to clear at just under £6 per piece. Bit of a bargain price!
