This is a lovely delicate 9ct (marked 375) gold ring which was probably made in the mid-1970s for Ortak, The marks on the inside are very small - but it has a visible vintage Edinburgh hallmark.
The Ortak company was originally founded in the late sixties by Malcolm Gray in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands. The company grew steadily to become one of the UK's leading manufacturers and designers of fine silver and gold jewellery.
The beautiful ring has a St Magnus Cross / Celtic design.
It is quite delicate in construction and is a UK ring size P (as photographed). It weighs 2.2 grams.
It is in lovely clean condition - almost as new.
Vintage Ortak pieces are now becoming highly collectable.
This ring comes in a plain black, good-quality presentation ring box, as seen in my photographs.
