I always have a bit of a soft spot for old Staffordshire Figurines, and none more so than these pretty examples with feature milkmaids seated beside a cow.
This one is utterly charming with the little milkmaid seated to the left of an oversized cow. It is one of two that I have in my Iconic Edinburgh online store - the other forms a pair - with the cow and milkmaid in the opposite direction.
This is a lovely example and given its age (it dates to the late 19th century) it is in remarkable condition.
There are no nasty chips or damages (I think that the horns might have been restored - the horns are commonly chipped at the tips on these models).
A pretty lady or milkmaid sits beside a white crummie (or cow) who is decorated with spongeware dabbled patches of russet brown. The milkmaid is seated to the right-hand side of the cow.
The group stands on an oval base painted with green grass. A stream runs to the left
Dimensions: about 7 1/4 inches wide and with a height of 5 1/2 inches.
Weight unpacked is 800 grams
Very cottage chic - and would look fabulous on display in a country cottage or rustic bed and breakfast in the dining room.
A fine example - have listed another couple of these creamers and figurines from my collection.
Fair price for such a fine example.
Of course - being sold as a genuine antique 19th-century example - it is certainly NOT a modern reproduction piece.
In the UK, this will be posted next day special delivery to make sure the figurine is tracked and fully insured in transit.
