This is an unusual little vintage decorative plate.
It is probably made in Norway (by Kari Nyquist for Stavangerflint) - but features a scene in the Faroe Islands or Foroyar.
The plate is an irregular shape as shown - and is 7 inches in diameter.
The image has been screen printed and then the colours hand painted onto the design.
The plate shows a harbour scene - with a fisherman landing his catch - a beautiful fishwife is in the foreground - sorting out the fish. I love the big sun in the sky in the distance.
You don't find Faroe Islands plates that often - so this is reflected in my price for this lovely piece of mid-century pottery.
